REMOTE MINING SITE
Ever considered the challenges remote workers face accessing real-time corporate data located in your Head Office?
A solution is at hand with Focus Networks!
Focus Networks have just implemented a rather unique solution for a client with an extremely remote site.
The client site is located at Mt Weld which is approximately 950KM North East of Perth.
It is the world’s richest rare earths ore body. Faced with the issues of providing communications to a multidisciplined engineering organisation, Focus Networks completed a site audit remotely and without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on costly satellite or microwave connectivity, they were able to provide a solution at a cost effective price.
The installation consists of a SonicWALL firewall utilising the Telstra NextG network. A HP server replicates data to and from the Head Office via the site to site VPN. A Polycom handset also routes VOIP calls back to Perth via this site to site VPN.
This solution allows the client to place resources onsite where traditionally, communications have been unavailable or extremely slow.
If the potential site is within the two million square kilometres that is covered by the Telstra NextG network, Focus Networks can install a stable solution that will deliver connectivity back to the clients Head Office.
Remoteness overcome by Focus Networks!
